Gombe, Tanzania: Jane Goodall and infant chimpanzee Flint reach out to touch each other's hands. Flint was the first infant born at Gombe after Jane arrived. With him she had a great opportunity to study chimp development—and to have physical contact, which is no longer deemed appropriate with chimps in the wild. This image is from Jane.

Pushkar, Rajasthan, India: Camel owners shave intricate and detailed patterns into the fur of their camels in order to make them more attractive and increase their sales prices. Shaving like this requires a trusting relationship between shaver and camel as it can take up to a week to complete. Every day the camel must sit patiently for up to an hour, before it gets a break to walk around and eat. Camels are treated with love and respect in Rajasthan. This image is from One Strange Rock.
