For people all over the world over, snakes are both fascinating and terrifying creatures. Capable of stoking a primal fear in the human mind, many legends have sprung up surrounding them. Anaconda: Killer Snake? follows snake expert Dr Jesus Rivas as he goes beyond the myths and tracks down one of the largest species of serpent on Earth: the South American anaconda.
Travelling through the Llanos region of Venezuela searching for the elusive creature, Jesus explores the region's swamps and lagoons, explaining the animal's behaviour and dispeling many of the stories surrounding them. His wife and DNA expert, Dr Sarah Corey, joins him in his pursuit and together they attempt to find out whether the region's anacondas have similar DNA - a problem that could ultimately have disastrous consequences for the survival of the species.
