Ataturk Airport has been home to the company for decades, but it also has been unable to meet the technological and operational demands in today’s world. There has been a new airport currently under construction in Istanbul, which is due to open by November 1st, 2018. Turkish Airlines will be moving its entire operations –including its HQ– to the new airport, with the hope of becoming a hub for the international flights. Turkish Airlines Mega Move (working title) will cover this move from theoretical trainings and field tests to the actual move on the morning of October 31st, when 120 airplanes will be moved from one airport to another in 12 hours, while the devices will be moved by thousand of trucks.
