Synopsis

Revelations, fortunes and harbingers of doom … human history is scattered with mysterious people rumored to have supernatural insight into the future. Have forces beyond our understanding endowed these extraordinary individuals with the gift of prophecy, or is there a rational explanation for these visions? This riveting documentary series blends dramatic reenactments, sweeping footage, and interviews with a panel of experts to present three captivating stories per episode. From ancient China to medieval Europe and modern-day West Virginia, some cases turn out to be elaborate deceptions, others remain eerily unexplained, and all reveal a perpetual human desire to see beyond the veil of time — with reverberating effects on history.
