Synopsis
Cats and dogs they've figured out how to live in harmony under our roofs and in our back yards but in the wild their story is different. Canines and felines have been living side by side in Africa for hundreds of thousands of years, and they've never really gotten along. In this one-off special, the competition for survival unfolds in the plains of southern Africa. It's not just a cat eat dog world here in the grasslands: lions eat cheetahs; jackals eat lion cubs; hyenas eat whatever they can get their hands on. And yet, one predator trumps them all. Weather is the age-old nemesis, storming through anything and anyone in its path. When drought wreaks havoc on the terrain, the competition gets even fiercer. We're hidden in the trees with the leopard, masked behind the brush with a lioness, roaming in packs with the dogs or speeding by with the cheetah, hunting with these predators means kill or be killed. It means eat quick or die trying.
