Synopsis
A perilously ill and orphaned elephant calf has been found abandoned. He's the victim of the growing battle for space and resources between people and elephants in Sri Lanka. Fencing elephants in to wildlife preservation areas cuts them off from age-old migration routes, and often results in them failing to find enough food. Conservationists are focussing their efforts on new ways of ending the conflict. Dr Pruthu Fernando is pioneering a radically new way of thinking. Instead of confining elephants, use electric fences to surround humans - keeping the elephants out, rather than in.
