Synopsis

Lucy Cooke loves the animals that the rest of us don't think twice about. The ugly. The underdogs. The unappreciated. The species that sadly do not get as much love and adoration as the more fuzzy or "cute" animals do. Whether we shun them because of their appearance, their unfriendly demeanor, or their unsanitary reputations, these animals still have something to share - and something to teach us. Now Lucy's on a globe-spanning quest from Borneo to South Africa and all the way to Tasmania to champion these ignored creatures and to make you love them as much as she does

Africa's Freaky Five

Lucy's on a hunt for the more enigmatic Freaky Five: Cape vultures, sungazer girdled lizards, golden-brown baboon tarantulas, ground pangolins, and chacma baboons. The Freaky Five are all important to South Africans and their traditions.
