Synopsis

Indonesia is an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands, shaped by fire and water and home to extreme habitats and rich biodiversity. Between volcanoes, coasts and rainforests, wildlife is constantly adapting. Volcanic forces continue to shape the islands, creating and destroying habitats in an endless cycle. Babirusas feast around mineral springs, while megapodes use geothermal heat to incubate their eggs. On Komodo, the Komodo dragon rules as the largest lizard on Earth. Sumatra is home to the last Sumatran elephants and Sumatran rhinos, which struggle as habitats shrink. Across the islands, human influence is also increasingly reshaping these fragile ecosystems. Discover a world in constant transformation between creation, destruction and adaptation.
