Synopsis
In the African nation of Mozambique lies Gorongosa National Park, a stunning million-acre paradise with a dark past. For nearly two decades the land was embroiled in a vicious civil war which claimed the lives of almost all the wildlife which had previously thrived there. Elephants were killed for their ivory to pay for arms and supplies, zebras and buffalos were killed for their meat, and lions and other predators died as a result of the destruction of their prey sources. Now American-born, African- raised, Emmy-award-winning wildlife cameraman Bob Poole is joining the battle, along with scientists and conservationists, to rebuild and 're-wild' this magnificent land.
