    Colombian Emeralds, Season 1 | Episode 8

Expert gem hunter Guy Clutterbuck has assembled a crack team of miners, engineers and mechanics from around the world, to find the world's most precious gems. But Guy wants to do it the right way. Gem mining has had a bad press and Guy's plan is to find small scale artisanal mines that have minimal impact on the environment and treat their workers fairly. He then sends his team of four miners to find and help a local mine produce more efficiently, and most importantly forge a lasting relationship that will make them preferred suppliers in the future. It's a risky business plan, but based on Guy's thirty years' experience in the gem trade. In this episode they are in Colombia, travelling to the cloud covered, mountain top emerald mines of the Chivor district on the hunt for a mine that can produce a crystal clear Chivor emerald. And this could be their most dangerous mission. Only recently Colombian emerald mines were part of a 'Green War' and even today paramilitary forces, the government and emerald barons are caught in conflict. To succeed here they must keep a low profile.

San Francisco Bay Bridge, Season 2 | Episode 11

News Flash: Motorists planning a trip out of San Francisco this Labor Day weekend had better leave early and plan on getting home late… otherwise theyre in for the mother of all traffic jams. The city is closing down the Bay Bridge for four days in an attempt to pull off a miracle. This bridge is one of busiest in the country, carrying nearly 300,000 vehicles a day. And its about to be the site of one of the Worlds Toughest Fixes. The world was watching in 1989 when part of the Bay Bridge crumbled. Its been patched up since then, but theres a new trouble section … and if another earthquake hits, watch out. Engineers have already started building a brand new bridge alongside the old one, but theres a long way to go before its ready. For now, engineers have a short-term fix theyre cutting away a chunk of the old bridge and planning to connect it to the end of the new bridge. Its a massive fix… and it all comes down to one long weekend. With Riley on hand to watch, a huge team of construction workers and engineers will be working around the clock to cut out a piece of bridge almost as big as a football field … slide it out of the way… and roll in a piece of new roadway. Its rigging on a grand scale… with thousands of tons of steel being shifted into place… 150 feet over the bay. One slip and its big trouble. The stakes are enormous … and if the bridge isnt back up and running by the start of the workweek… itll be gridlock for the entire Bay area.
