The Hunt Is On, Season 3 | Episode 2

There are only a few days left of deer hunting season in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, and homesteaders Tony and Amelia need meat to get them through the cold winter. But Tony has never been deer hunting before and doesn't have the luxury of time to hone his methods. Tony is thrown right in to the hunt, and the pressure is on. In the woods of northern Georgia, Thorn has spent much of the winter preparing his school bus as a home for him and his new partner, Delia, to live in, but now they are running low on food. Deer season is almost over, and Delia is depending on him to bring home meat. Thorn must rise to the challenge, or they won't have any of the protein that they need to get them through the winter. Frontiersman Colbert has already taken advantage of the deer season in the swamps of Southern Georgia and has successfully killed a deer. But now he must process the deer meat, which is easier said than done. Colbert isn't getting any younger, and processing the deer proves to be more difficult and time consuming than he'd thought. There isn't much daylight left, so Colbert must work quickly to harvest the deer meat before it spoils and all his hard work has gone down the drain. Big game hunting season has ended in Utah, so hunter-gatherer Matt must turn his attention towards small game in order to get protein to survive. He's still assessing if his land in Utah can provide the resources he needs to live there through the colder months. If his attempts at small game don't result in meat, he'll need to take shelter for the night.

Aircraft Carrier Explosion, Season 3 | Episode 4

"The fire was everywhere and the thought going through your mind is to just escape". This chilling recap from survivor Dave Dollarhide, a pilot on the USS Forrestal, details one of the most famous disasters in U.S. military history. During the Vietnam War on 29 July, 1967, Dollarhide was one of six Skyhawk pilots on deck, preparing for an airborne attack. However, the danger that day did not come from enemy fire, but from a blazing inferno on the ship itself. At 10:51 AM, as pilots prepare for take off, a sudden explosion occurs, igniting a fire that spread flames across the deck and into the heart of the ship below. Initial explosions wipe out many of the fire-fighters, leaving untrained crew members to quell the conflagration. Some 17 hours later, the fire is out and 134 men are dead. What caused the explosions that led to the deaths of these men? Footage of the fire, eye-witness testimony and investigator experiments help answer this key question.
