Woodsman Thorn transports his fresh hog meat across state lines to his new home back in Georgia, only to realize that he has returned with more meat than he has the means to preserve. He gets to work building a smoker to preserve the excess meat before it spoils. Still in need of funds to help pay the taxes on his land, frontiersman Colbert heads to his friend's quail plantation to assist in eradicating their coyote problem. He agrees to trap coyotes in exchange for furs he can sell at the market to help foot his tax bill.

    On July 19, 1989, a DC10-10 operated by United Airlines flight 232 experiences a catastrophic failure on its number two tail mounted engine during the flight. The tail engine's fan disc splits. It severs all the hydraulic lines. The plane becomes uncontrollable. A flying instructor heads to the cockpit and offers his assistance. Together they manage to wrestle the plane to the ground but the plane starts plunging towards the runway at Sioux City, Iowa, U.S at speeds almost three times the normal rate. In a dramatic emergency landing, it cartwheels, veers right into a field, breaks into three parts and erupts in a massive fireball. Of the 285 passengers on board 112 were killed.

An early escape attempt ended in disaster when he crashed through a roof into a secure lunatic asylum. After this he stood trail and was sentenced to life in prison. Determined to prove his innocence, he made a further daring escape attempt disguised as a woman, but was recaptured. He spent the next eleven years in a spiraling prison nightmare which in culminated in him being declared dead in a prison mortuary. Following pressure from the Australian government, Chris was granted a Presidential pardon and was released on 26th September 1996.
