Synopsis

Season Three of Expedition Wild on Nat Geo Wild will feature award-winning presenter Casey Anderson on a series of breathtakingly wild adventures: he'll paddle the Grand Canyon, ski with wolverines in British Columbia, stalk mountain lions in Montana, stake out the scavengers of Yellowstone, share the beach with a polar bear on Alaska's northern slope, and climb to rugged extremes in pursuit of northern Maine's black bears - bringing audiences up-close and personal with rare and endangered species, some deadly, others dashing, in the stunning natural ecosystems that they call home.

  • Stalking The Mountain Lion

    Naturalist Casey Anderson sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream of tracking one of North America's most elusive ghosts: the Mountain Lion. Casey's longtime friend and cat expert, Tyler Johnerson, is on hand to help him in his quest to witness "the ghost of the Rockies." Casey and Tyler set out together armed with specialized camera technology hoping to document "never before seen" footage of Mountain Lions living in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

    Bracing himself against the fierce elements in the frozen wilds of Alaska and British Columbia, Casey Anderson finds himself on his own "mission impossible" - a quest to find and film an elusive animal whose legend is almost larger than life, the Wolverine. Known by numerous common names including "devil bear," "glutton," and "hyena of the North," the Wolverine is perhaps the least-understood carnivore in all of North America.

    Casey Anderson heads to the legendary Grand Canyon for an adventure of truly epic proportions - a trek through this vast wilderness that will take him from the California Condor to the Grand Canyon Rattlesnake and back again - as he profiles the rare and endangered wildlife living on the edge of the abyss.

  • Yellowstone Scavengers

    Casey plunges headlong into a covert-ops wildlife stakeout several weeks of filming to determine the ultimate scavenger in a gladiator-style contest surrounding a fresh deer kill in Yellowstone activity reaches a fever pitch as wolves, mountain lions, skunks, ravens, and maggots come "out of the woodwork" for a piece of the action, all while observing the most basic rule of scavenging: eat - but dont get eaten. As Casey begins his scavenger survey, the animals he profiles are not what youd expect. In fact, they are some of Yellowstones most charismatic and well-known predator species: grizzly bears, eagles, and canids (coyotes and gray wolves)...

  • Black Bear Invasion

    Casey's newest protégé, "Casey-Junior," is a six-week old ambassador Black Bear cub who will learn to walk, swim, climb, and forage, all for the first time under Casey's careful tutelage; but what starts out small doesn't stay that way as Casey embarks on an all-out quest to find Black Bears in the wild country of Maine's "Big Woods.

  • Grizzly vs. Polar Bear

    A strange and puzzling story is swirling through the land of the midnight sun: polar bears and brown bears, isolated from one another for millennia by geography, climate, and behavior, are suddenly appearing side-by-side - prompting Casey Anderson to embark on a fact-finding mission to the Arctic and put Brutus, his nine-hundred pound brown bear, through the paces of "Life as a Polar Bear" in the hopes of solving one of the natural world's most intriguing new mysteries.
