Synopsis

Three guys. Three skill sets. Fifty states. Dirty Rotten Survival follows three men with three wildly different skill sets on a mission to reinvent the great American road trip. In each state they give each other a new outdoor challenge and a limited set of tools in which to complete it. But the guys have made a pact for these tough guy treks: they must always choose the road less traveled, they'll never turn back and they are dedicated to overcoming each challenge they encounter using nothing but elbow grease and some good old-fashioned man-genuity. Why? Well, because this ain't no vacation.

Season 1

Swamped

With no food, only one canteen of water a piece, and just a small swamp survival kit each, the guys venture into the swamplands of the Atchafalaya Basin, Louisiana, to see if they have the skills to get the 1947 jeep, and themselves, through a 50 mile course in one piece.

Hog Wild

Dick brings Johnny and Dave to the heart of Texas for a hog hunting adventure of epic proportions.

Desert Express

Johnny, Dick, and Dave head to central Nevada to conquer the most daunting desert stretch of the Old Pony Express route, and to make their epic trek even more challenging, they're doing it on bicycles they cobble together themselves.

Gimme Shelter

The guys head to Dave's home state of Ohio where he challenges them to live the life of old Northwest Territory pioneers and build permanent survival shelters while living off the land.

Jersey Devils

On this episode the gang heads to the most densely populated state in America, New Jersey, where they will blaze their very own 50-mile trail starting in the center of humanity, a mall parking lot, and finishing in the least populated place in the state, the Pine Barrens.

Get Hardware

Home Builder Johnny Littlefield is taking Survival Expert, Dave Canterbury and Engineer Dick Strawbridge on a 25-mile hike through the Berkshire mountain range of Massachusetts. Starting at the oldest hardware store in America, the guys have 5 minutes to grab whatever tools they can for their trek.

Castaways

You're going to be stranded on a deserted island and you only get to bring three items with you; a hypothetical scenario for most, but Dick, Dave, and Johnny are going to do it for real.

Car-B-Que

Dave challenges Johnny and Dick to go car camping in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Canterbury-style. Starting at a junkyard they each select a vehicle that they will drive through the logging roads to 3 different campsites over three nights and ending at the northern-most tip of Lake Superior.

Fool's Gold

Dick is taking to guys to the mountains of Oregon for a gold rush adventure. With the RV loaded up with gold hunting gear, the guys meet up with the owner of an abandoned gold mine.
