Synopsis

Within weeks of Pearl Harbor, Nazi U-boats attacked American ships within sight of the North Carolina coast—leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake. Documenting this virtually unknown conflict, Hitler’s American Battleground follows a team of marine archaeologists on an historic mission as they turn this all-but forgotten graveyard into a protected sanctuary in honor of the fallen.

    During WW2, Nazi U-boats attack within sight of America’s Carolina coast — leaving chaos and terror in their wake. Hunting Allied supply ships from below, Hitler’s torpedoes deal a devastating blow to the US war effort. That is, until the hunter becomes the hunted and the tide begins to turn. Today, a dive team scours the sea floor to transform a ghostly battleground into a timeless memorial.

  • Atlantic Graveyard

    With Nazi submarines mercilessly stalking the Atlantic, American forces finally gain the upper hand. Traveling in mighty convoys and attacking from above, they deal a death blow to Hitler’s underwater terror. Today, the research team charts dozens of wrecks from this forgotten WW2 battleground and dives deep, determined to uncover a ghostly German U-boat that became an eternal tomb for its crew.
