Perilous Journeys

Synopsis

In this four-part, hosted program, well travel the globe, teaming up with commercial fisherman, South American police officers, and long-haul truckers in the Yukon to see how they navigate their treacherous jobs. For them, what they do is just part of the daily grind of putting food on the table. For viewers, however, it will be a glimpse into a world far beyond their own, where culture and commerce meet. It will be an opportunity to learn whats at stake personally for the subjects of the show as well as understand how people in these professions contribute to and shape world culture. Most importantly, it will give viewers a sense of the interconnectedness of the world and how each of these risky professions contributes, in its own way, to creating a functioning global society.

  • Crossing The Himalaya

    Marsh Mokhtari takes a white-knuckle journey through India's majestic Himalayan mountain range over one of the world's highest motorable passes.

  • Cracking The Ice Road

    Marsh Mokhtari is in Canada's Northwest Territories where he travels on an ice road to the northernmost village on the Canadian mainland.

  • Roof of Africa

    Marsh attempts a treacherous winter ascent of the notorious Sani Pass. From there it only gets worse as he faces the highest road in Africa.

  • Into The Lost Jungle

    Marsh travels into Panama's infamous Darien Gap – a primeval jungle inhabited by a variety of dangerous wildlife as well as Colombian guerrillas.
