Some Say competitive fishing  is the best sport in the world.  But with so many fishermen and so many fishing disciplines how can we find out who is best of the best?
This competition isn't just about who catches the most and who catches the biggest.  It's also about who hosts the ultimate fishing trip.  Each competitor will be proficient in a very different fishing discipline: fly fishing, spear fishing, noodling for instance - and they'll be tasked with laying on the perfect experience.  However, one man’s noodling might not be anybody else’s cup of tea.  Each host will have to work hard to convince the others that their type of fishing is the best. Marks for hosting will be combined with marks for the catch to give each rod-man a total score for the competition - and ultimately one will be crowned our King Fisher. A true King Fisher will be a great leader, a bon-vivant, charismatic as well as being a winner with the rod.  He will be able to put together the best fishing trip with the most exciting lodgings and post-fishing evening entertainment.

  • King Fishers: Episode 1
    Three anglers from opposite corners of the globe come together to prove they are the best, both at home and abroad. Wes from Scotland, Guy from Botswana and Mark from Mauritius go head to head as they battle for some of the worlds most notorious catches, including the legendary Tiger Fish, the mighty Blue Marlin and the notorious Atlantic Salmon. The banter is tough, the fishing tougher but as tempers rise between Guy and Wes, will they all keep their cool when it comes down to clinching the competition?

    In this humorous hour-long format we pitch three passionate fishermen, from three different countries to discover who is the King Fisher. In the ultimate clash of fishing styles and cultures Aussie Outback boy, Shane takes on OZ, Thailands "Bangkok Hooker" and the UKs Barbel King Jason. But this competition isn't just about who catches the most and who catches the biggest. It's also about who hosts the ultimate fishing trip with marks for both fish caught and the whole experience contributing to the final score. In this episode three different fishing disciplines clash in the ultimate fishing competition: lure fishing in Australia, deep cover fishing in Thailand and bait fishing in the UK.

    In this humorous action packed international adventure we pitch three fishermen, from three different countries against each other to discover who is the KINGFISHER. In this episode, all-Canadian Kevin, a jet-boating, hockey-pro from British Columbia takes on Pepper, a laid back American who lives in the Amazon and Sean, an ultra-competitive fishing guide from the south coast of England. In Canada they fish for the mighty, prehistoric sturgeon, in the Amazon they hunt the peacock bass, one of sport fishings most ferocious fighters and on the south coast of England they cast their rods for every salt-water species available. But this competition isnt just about who catches the most and who catches the biggest, its also about who hosts the ultimate fishing trip. Will a fishing lodge experience on the banks of the Fraser River in Canada outscore the party atmosphere of the Brazilian Amazon and how will they fare against the warm English pubs of Dorset? The fishermen award each other extra marks for the overall experience they provide on their home territory, these points are added to their fishing scores and ultimately, one is crowned, King Fisher. Its a hard fought battle throughout, and the story keeps us guessing right until the end.
  • King Fishers: Episode 4
    In this humorous action packed international adventure we pitch three fishermen, from three different countries against each other to discover who is the King Fisher. We have Pete, a gadget obsessed Carp Fisherman from the UK, Steve, an ultra-competitive fishing guide from Key West, Florida and Ralph, a Kayak fishing expert from Costa Rica. In the UK, our three anglers endure a mammoth 24-hour Carp fishing marathon, camping in the English winter. In Key West they are taken on an adrenaline filled boat ride to do battle with a variety of saltwater fish, including Permit and Cobia. And in Costa Rica they are out to get up close and personal with the Roosterfish as they take to the water in Kayaks. But this competition is not just about who catches the heaviest and who catches the rarest of fish, its also about who hosts the ultimate fishing trip. How will a 24 hour camping experience in the beautiful English countryside compete with the glitz and glamour of Florida fishing and the tropical vibe and stunning backdrop of the Costa Rican coast? Its a hard fought battle between rod and reel, where friendships are made and broken, during an epic two-week competition.

    Theres fly fishing fanatic Abbie from Belize, taking on cheeky Irish beach fisherman Eugene and extreme ice angler Vidar from Sweden.

    Sean from Cape Town takes on Steve, a cheekily charming match fishing champion from England and Mary, a sea fishing captain from Ireland.
  • King Fishers: Episode 7
    In this episode the King Fisher title is tossed around as our anglers battle it out in the Seychelles, Spain and Italy.
  • King Fishers: Episode 8
    The ultimate fishing adventure begins up above the Arctic Circle and ends in West Africa, 13 degrees above the Equator.

    This episode sees Catfish Queen Natalie take on Bass Master Stephen from Texas, and Saltwater specialist Cedric from Puerto Rico.
