    Best of compilation of Photo Ark S1, which followed National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore on his globetrotting quest to photograph some of the rarest animals in the world. These arresting, studio portraits of over 5,000 species go into the Photo Ark, Joel’s 25-year-long project to document the world’s animals before they go extinct. By looking these animals in the eye, we begin to care about them and understand their importance to the health of our planet. When we save these species, we’re actually saving ourselves.

  • World Photography Day: I am NatGeo Photographer Season 2
    In the final episode, our contestants were defied with their biggest and most difficult challenge, the photo documentary. Each contestant was assigned to work with a group of people that define a certain subculture in the UAE. Each contestant had to spend 5 hours with one of the following groups: capoeira dancers, graffiti artists, skate boarder, and bikers. The contestants had to present the following images for the finale: cityscape, street scene with main characters, action, portrait, emotion & comfort zone with their subjects.

    Award-winning National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore is back! joel nearly killed himself in pursuit of the elusive Cross-River Gorilla in Cameroon, cursed on public television as a spectacular hornbilled sandpiper ruthlessly attacked his camera and drew blood from his hand, joyfully picked through piles of dung in search of new species of dung beetle, and brought home thousands of indelible images of animals on the brink.
